Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recently refuted the allegations that Enforcement Directorate is being used as a political tool.
“ED is completely independent in what it does. It is an agency that follows predicate offences… There are instances which are so standing out & if ED goes there, it is because of some prima facie evidence in their hands”, she said.
It is also said in the official community that the current Finance Minister is one of the rare ministers that does not interfere in any of the departments of their ministry.
